Aldrete Score Calculator

Determines whether the patient is ready for a safe discharge from the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or if further monitoring is needed.

The calculator is based on the Aldrete’s scoring system, used by healthcare professionals to assess how well a patient is recovering from anesthesia or sedation after a surgical procedure.

    7 Number of calculations

Rate your condition using 5 criteria and get the result:

    1. Activity: the ability to move your arms and legs, fingers and toes.
    2. Respiration: how’s your breathing? Is it at a normal rate or with some respiratory effort?
    3. Circulation: check the blood pressure.
    4. Consciousness: assess your level of orientation, are you aware of the surroundings.
    5. Colour: Is your skin colour normal or has it any deviation?

The score of 9 to 10 on the Aldrete Scale means you are deemed fit to leave the recovery area. However, if the Aldrete score is 8 or lower, it signals the necessity for ongoing and vigilant observation.
